The marriage certificate of George Monday Hawes (19 Aug 1877) stated that his father was another George Monday Hawes, Market Gardener from Isleworth.

Below are the notes I made following a chat with my Grandma in 1983. I think she was a bit confused between the 2 George Munday Hawes. Maybe she meant that the older George Munday's father was William Hawes.

According to Grandma Fox he had a bow-fronted butchers shop at Thame

Grandma said he had 4 wives. George was from first wife. Jane plus one girl + one boy. Was a farmer.

Not sure why I thought he was born abt 1825

Had lots of kids with Ann Pointer between 1838 and 1857 at Brill, Buckingham, including George 27/12/55. See download Hawes-1853. Some of these kids stayed in Brill on Common as agricultural labourers.
