XNJB
XNJB is a Cocoa
graphical user interface for
Mac OS X for the Creative Nomad
range of portable MP3 players and newer MTP players. It uses
libnjb and
libmtp
for low-level device communication. See the
device list to see if your device is supported.
XNJB is free software, released under the GPL so if you are a developer then you can download the source code.
XNJB is currently available in Bulgarian, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish and Swedish. If you speak a different language and would like to translate XNJB then please get in touch!
Microsoft Zune
There has been much excitement recently about getting XNJB to work with the Zune.
Unfortunately Microsoft have put some protection on file transfers so the Zune has to
authenticate with the host computer before files can be transferred. So currently XNJB will only
show a list of songs and files on your Zune. You cannot (yet) upload or download anything. If anyone
knows how to get around this then please let me know. I will start working
on this soon thanks to
linux.com who have kindly given their Zune to the project.
XNJB 1.0.0 Released!
After over a year in beta, I now think XNJB is stable enough to be worthy of a version 1 release.
There are still issues, but they are mostly known with workarounds and cannot be solved without a
large development effort or help from manufacturers (who almost universally refuse to help in any way).
If you would like to help, please see the
help page for ways you can. In particular, if you're a developer,
please donate some time to add features, fix bugs, etc. If not, please consider donating to the project.

XNJB will only work on OS X 10.3 (Panther), 10.4 (Tiger), 10.5 (Leopard) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard). Intel platform is supported as of version 1.0.0.
As of 0.33 binaries will not work on Mac OS X versions prior to 10.3.9 although the source should compile on 10.3.0 or later. If you have problems compiling, let me know and I can send a binary.

Player Support
XNJB supports to varying degrees the devices here.
On the devices that support Firewire and USB connections, only the USB ports will
work with XNJB. USB 1.1 and 2.0 is supported.
