Narrative
May Drummond’s parents were John Drummond and Cathrine Robertson. A gravestone1 in Tibbermore Churchyard, next to the grave of Catherine Pitceathly and John Jackson was inscribed:
“Alexander Robertson Farmer in Mains of Kinfauns died December 1796 aged 57 [so born c1729]
Margaret Robertson daughter who died May 1776 aged years
Alexr Robertson who died November 1809
Also daughter Cathrane Robertson beloved (wife?) of John Drummond of Perth who died 1849 aged 72 years” [so born c1777]
15.This stone suggests that John Drummond came from Perth and the Tibbermore connection is with the Robertson family. NB Alexander Pitkeathly and May Drummond had at least one child born in Tibbermore in c1826. The 1841 census for Tibbermore has a Cathrine Roberton aged 70 living in her own household at Weitet and born in Perthshire. This could conceivably be the Cathrine Robertson who was married John Drummond and having reverted to her own name in widowhood but there is insufficient information to assume it is.
